MITx and the online learning portal edX are teaming up to offer:
“A Taste of Python Programming”
This is a special college-level course for high school students participating in the Los Angeles Summer of Learning (LA SoL). It covers the first four weeks of material from 6.00x Introduction to Computer Science and Programming.
During this course, students will explore the basics of computer programming with MIT faculty, students and alumni. The course does not include exams or grades, but students are expected to complete course work and problem sets online. This hands-on experience will provide a basic introduction to programming concepts and approaches, and how to execute them in the Python programming language.
Reliable access to the internet and a personal computer are required to participate in the discussions and assignments.
PREREQUISITES: Intermediate high school algebra and reasonable aptitude for math. No prior programming experience needed.
