Angela Lopez (11th grade) created a poster for STEM Fest 2017 and presented at Roy Roymer Middle School on Saturday, April 22, 2017 to highlight the market research she conducted to illustrate the intersection between math and business in her Poly Virtual Enterprise class. Angela translated her market research data into various formulas to determine pricing, financing and promotion for her business - "Pearls" - which intersected directly with common core and state standards in math. Additionally, Angela created a website to serve as a technology-based promotional platform (using www.Wix.com) which highlighted her innovative business idea along with its niche focused products. Finally, it should be noted that during STEM Fest 2017, Angela was approached by the LAUSD Superintendent's Chief of Staff, a LAUSD Board Member and an individual from Apple Corp.
